Group D is made up of one hometown favourite and two tournament newcomers. Hometown LC Custodes will be joined by the Regina Heat and Istanbul Sultans who are looking to make a good first time impression in theAleš Hřebeský Memorial. See Jamie Plunkett’s group preview.

The Custodes are the hands down favourite of this group. Featuring offensive players such as Dominik Pešek, Radek Skála and Petr Poupě they won’t be short of goals. Last year saw the Custodes finishing the group play with a 2-0 record and a +28 goal differential. Their first loss came in the semi-finals against the eventual tournament winners Kahnawake Rapids. The Custodes play as a cohesive team and run a high tempo offensive that is tough for a lot of teams to match. Look for them to make a deep run in this year’s tournament. 2014 Results: 3rd.

Newcomers Regina Heat who hail from Saskatchewan, Canada will be looking to make a strong first impression this year. The Heat who debatably have one of the best jerseys are led by captain Kyle Bellegay who also used to play for the Victoria Jr. A Shamrocks. Having won 6 of the past 8 provincial titles the Heat are used to winning and look to continue the same trend this year in Prague. 2014 Results: New Team.

The second newcomer in this group are the Istanbul Sultans who is led by tournament legend Patrick Dougherty. The Sultans are made up of primarily Canadian, American and Czech players and will need to develop team chemistry quickly. This will be the first time a team from Turkey has played in a box lacrosse tournament and they are looking to make the country proud. Will the Sultans be able to gel fast enough to compete against the Custodes and Regina? Their game against Regina will be important to see who winds up 2nd place in this group. 2014 Results: New Team.
